Pupils collaborated successfully to create a well-crafted school mosaic. Pupils have gained awards in regional competition with works including, textiles, fashion and three-dimensional art.’ ISI Inspection February 2022)
Pupils are encouraged to be creative and explore numerous artistic mediums and techniques in our well equipped Art and Design Room.
From Year 1 Pupils enjoy a specialist Art and Design lesson, learning from various artists and taking inspiration from different cultures through history which is often linked to classroom topic work.
Themes are interpreted in many different formats and lessons focus on developing techniques, drawing skills and creativity.
Pupils are encouraged to develop their skills and to enter their work into both internal and external art competitions and exhibitions. The standard of entries is always very high with children using their imagination and creativity to interpret the given theme.
Students’ work is regularly entered into competitions including the ISA Art Competitions where we have had several prize winners in recent years
Pupils from all age groups designed and created our School Mosaic which is on display outside the main School entrance. The project was kindly funded by the Art Society – Croydon branch.
