Religious Education
Religious Education holds a central place in the curriculum at Laleham Lea and is fundamental to our mission to place Gospel values at the heart of school life. Through high-quality Religious Education, we support our pupils in developing a deepening knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith while encouraging respect and appreciation for others.
We follow The Way, The Truth and The Life programme, which provides a structured, progressive and engaging approach to Religious Education. This scheme supports pupils in exploring Scripture, Catholic beliefs, traditions and moral teachings in a way that is age-appropriate, reflective and meaningful. Lessons are carefully planned to encourage enquiry, discussion and personal reflection, enabling pupils to make links between faith and everyday life.
Religious Education at Laleham Lea is inclusive and accessible to all learners, fostering curiosity and spiritual growth. Assessment is used effectively to inform teaching and ensure progression in knowledge, understanding and religious literacy across the school.
As part of our commitment to educating the whole child, Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is delivered through Ten Ten: Life to the Full, in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church. This programme supports pupils in understanding the dignity of the human person, the importance of healthy relationships, and the call to live life to the full, as taught by Jesus. RSE is taught sensitively and in partnership with parents, reinforcing shared values and promoting respect, responsibility and personal wellbeing.
